Callie Paul is the human half of Creative Canine Counseling, LLC. She is a transplant from rural Pennsylvania, where she grew up on a small farm. Her undergraduate degree is in Fine Art, and she completed her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University in 2023. While borrowing interventions from other therapeutic modalities in her work with clients, Callie’s primary focus is existential therapy incorporating animals and creative expression.
Callie specializes in working with clients to improve their self-concept, reconcile aspects of their identity (e.g., neurodivergence, LGBTQIA, etc.), reinforce relationships to self and others, and improve daily functioning while navigating circumstances like anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and general life stressors.

Canine Co-therapist
Salsa—has been working as a certified therapy dog and animal co-therapist for over a year of experience. An eighty-pound wondermutt who enjoys rolling in foul-smelling organic matter, butt scratches, scavenging, and chasing squirrels, Salsa does her best to provide a positive relational experience for all of her clients in collaboration with her human. Her calm and nonjudgmental presence allows clients to feel grounded and safe in session through tactile stimulation and deep-pressure therapy.
our approach
Existential therapy is a unique approach that focuses on the human condition as a whole, aiming to help individuals find meaning and purpose in life. Emphasizing the client’s experience, freedom, responsibility, and search for meaning, existential therapy encourages clients to confront core concerns such as death, isolation, freedom, and meaninglessness.
The goal is to help clients live more authentically and make conscious, values-based choices within their lives. By integrating animals and creative expression (such as art) into this therapeutic framework, we can create a more enriched and multidimensional healing experience.
